I live in one of the world’s true Shangri-Las, tucked away in the little mountain town of Nelson, British Columbia. My wife and I have two grown children: one an actor, the other a musician. The family joke is that, between the four of us, we share not a single money-making gene.
My writing pursuits have been forged largely in the fires of live theatre where, for thirty years, I have participated as an actor, director and playwright. Four of my stage plays have been produced locally and one in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
Over the years I have produced more than a dozen original radio dramas plus radio adaptations of famous classical scripts like Oedipus Rex and Macbeth. Such fun! Really, there is nothing more rewarding than doing live radio drama. Try it, you'll love it!
All of my radio dramas were broadcast locally on Kootenay Co-op Radio. A few received additional airing on NPR stations in Minneapolis and Santa Fe (407 Arachne, The Chat and The Non-Resident) 407 Arachne, produced in 1999 by Minneapolis’s Jerry Stearns, won the Mark Time Award which is given annually to the best work of science fiction in audio drama. Three other audio scripts of mine can be found in MRTW/NAFT script books.
In recent years, I have focused my attention more and more on writing fiction. In 2013, my novella, Eta Carinae, was published as an e-book by Vagabondage Press. I have since self-published Eta Carinae as a paperback (Home Star Press). Two other novellas followed: Echoes--What if the Stones could speak, and Letters to Icarus.
Most of my recent writing has been directed towards novels. The first published was Big Ledge. Next came The Draper Catalogue, then, Lunatics: Last Men on the Moon and, very recently, Willing: A Shakespearean Romp. Most of these titles can be found in regional bookstores and libraries. All can be found online as paperbacks and eBooks. Most are also available as audiobooks through a wide variety of providers, including Overdrive and Audible.

Wipf & Stock has also published a collection of my collection of short stories, called Loose Ends.
