HYMNS TO THE NIGHT SKY
The one experience which still gives the most immediate and visceral joy is looking up into a clear, dark, night sky and communing with the wonders of the universe. I have been doing it for as long as I can remember. Here are some photos I have taken along the way.

A clear November night is rare enough, but then to have the aurora out, and strong enough to make itself known even through the glare of a full moon--pretty special. 15 sec exposure ASA 400.

A relatively mild magnetic storm brings the Aurora to Nelson. Only a pale green, mostly amorphous, glow to the naked eye. But wonderful colours with a long exposure shot (12 sec. ASA 1600)
