THE DRAPER CATALOGUE Quite by accident she thinks, Henrietta Draper finds herself standing on the surface of a distant planet orbiting the star HD 10307 in the constellation Andromeda. Bad enough . . . but it seems the planet's inhabitants expect her, somehow, to "save the universe."
I'm not at all sure on which library shelf The Draper Catalogue belongs. Science Fiction? Fantasy? Religion? Literary Fiction? A case might be made for any of those. My personal choice (and clearly not a modest one) would be to place it next to C.S. Lewis's famous sci-fi trilogy. I can see it vividly: "Out of the Silent Planet", "Perelandra", "That Hideous Strength", and . . . "The Draper Catalogue". . . . Some day, who knows?
