Bear's Hump Trail

This is a short, fairly steep, well-travelled trail (Nelsonites, think of Pulpit Rock) but awards hikers with a stunning view of the centre of the park. This is pretty much selfie-heaven. We were lucky enough to be at the top in the late afternoon when, quite miraculously the smoke of the day had pretty much cleared. This would among the easiest of all the park trails to find, starting right at the visitors' centre. Over and over again we heard these words exchanged between hikers coming up and hikers coming down. "Is it worth it?" "Absolutely!" But be sure to fill your water bottle!

NOT a chipmunk, but a golden-mantled ground squirrel. You're sure to meet them at the top.
