Rock Slide Lake: October 2017
A few kilometres south of Winlaw, along Highway 6, a right turn will take you 13 km up the Pedro Ck logging road (mostly in good shape) to the trail head for the Kim Kratky Loop and also a side trail to Rock Slide Lake. These are easy hikes with some good views. If you're a fisherman Rock Slide Lake will be especially appealing. About 12 km up the road the trees open up to allow an excellent view of the Valhalla Range.
As we hiked we were pleased to discover quite a few huckleberries still ripe and ready for eating, even this late in the season.
