Varadero
Varadero is one of Cuba's premier tourist destinations. This long spit of land poking out into the Atlantic is packed with all-inclusive resorts. All-inclusive, in this context, seems to include permission to smoke your lungs out; there was way to much tobacco smoke around for our liking. We found nothing whatsoever to criticise in the behaviour of the locals, but those on vacation (mostly Canadians and Russians) were not always on their best behaviour. All that being said, the beaches were lovely, the water pristine and all the Cubans whom we met quite delightful.
This is pretty much a Canadian's idea of Paradise
One tourist complained about there being "too many shells on the beach"!
