Havana

Certainly one of the highlights of our trip was an overnight trip to Havana. We spent our evening enjoying a performance at the Tropicana and the next day we followed a guide through the streets of Havana. Even in its impoverished and dilapidated state, Havana remains a great city with beautiful historical buildings. As it was, a great deal of restoration was going on in anticipation of a visit from Pope Francis. How wonderful it would be to see the whole city one day restored to its past glory.

The Hotel Nacional: how many famous entertainers of the Fifties spent time here?

Just a few short clips from the Tropicana show: sort of a mixture between Game of Thrones and the Lucy Show. I especially love the dancers who wear chandeliers on their heads.
